The Quantum Leap Strategy That Grew Niche Consulting Growth

Published on: 2nd June, 2026

In this episode, we explore why hard work alone is not enough to move a consulting business past the plateau.

Many consultants begin with what Chris calls “Ignorance on Fire” — plenty of energy, drive, and determination, but not enough focus. Eventually, that momentum slows.

This episode introduces the Quantum Leap Strategy and how consultants can use it to create a more focused, intentional path toward freedom, impact, and income.

It's the exact process Chris used to grow Niche Consulting Growth to steady clients and income.

We both use this approach every single day.

If you are working hard in your consulting business but feel like your growth is slower than it should be, or you know you need more clarity before the next level can happen, this is the episode to listen to.

Speaker:

Today's topic is one of my absolute favorite discussions to have with Chris.

Speaker:

I'll start by asking you to think about a phase in your consulting business that

Speaker:

Chris calls ignorance on fire.

Speaker:

You start out full of energy and determination,

Speaker:

but you are lacking focus. You're working hard,

Speaker:

you're relying on brute force to grow,

Speaker:

but eventually you hit a plateau.

Speaker:

You enter what we call the valley of death.

Speaker:

Hard work alone is no longer enough.

Speaker:

You're stuck in a place where analysis,

Speaker:

paralysis, self-doubt, and exhaustion take over,

Speaker:

and your growth slows to an agonizing incremental crawl.

Speaker:

So let's talk about the solution to that.

Speaker:

It clearly isn't about working harder,

Speaker:

it's about a complete paradigm shift.

Speaker:

So let's dig a little deeper into that.

Speaker:

Chris and I are both fans of the author Price Pritchett.

Speaker:

He wrote about a concept called the quantum leap strategy.

Speaker:

A quantum leap is a sudden and dramatic change.

Speaker:

It's bypassing incremental steps to achieve exponential results

Speaker:

by making bold shifts in your strategy and mindset.

Speaker:

Here are the components of the quantum leap strategy.

Speaker:

Component number one is defining your aiming point.

Speaker:

You cannot make a leap if you don't know where you're landing.

Speaker:

For a consulting leader, your aiming point usually comes down to three pillars:

Speaker:

freedom, impact, and income.

Speaker:

Freedom to choose your clients and your time,

Speaker:

impact to solve meaningful problems,

Speaker:

and income to live your desired lifestyle.

Speaker:

You need absolute clarity on what this looks like for you.

Speaker:

I've known Chris for over eight years now,

Speaker:

and one of the things I have always admired is his focus.

Speaker:

Early on, I remember Chris telling me about his morning routine.

Speaker:

He'd review his aiming point, spend a few minutes on constructive questions around

Speaker:

that aiming point, and head into his day.

Speaker:

We'll talk about this routine or ritual a little more in component three.

Speaker:

But he still does it to this day.

Speaker:

And I know it has greatly impacted the success of niche consulting growth.

Speaker:

Because these days, Chris's calendar is very full in a good way.

Speaker:

The company is actually now scaling to more consultants than he can serve directly.

Speaker:

And so I've stepped in to help lead this expansion.

Speaker:

So I want to quickly mention the round table.

Speaker:

This is where consultants come to sharpen your positioning,

Speaker:

refine your offers, and build the kind of opportunity flow that doesn't depend

Speaker:

on luck. It's a small working group of peers that I lead,

Speaker:

with Chris joining in regularly for the harder positioning

Speaker:

and offer challenges through what we call founder sessions.

Speaker:

Members also get full access to Boutique OS,

Speaker:

which is our proprietary tool set.

Speaker:

If you'd like to know more, check the notes and find out how.

Speaker:

Again, this growth is directly related to the quantum leap strategy Chris

Speaker:

has applied. Let's move on to the next component of this strategy.

Component two:

breaking through your limiting beliefs.

Component two:

Look, we all have paradigms.

Component two:

We all have stories that we tell ourselves based on past experiences.

Component two:

It's normal, it's human. For Chris,

Component two:

it's

Component two:

It was a childhood memory of a pushy vacuum salesman that made

Component two:

him deeply believe selling was manipulative.

Component two:

He'll tell you, and he actually talks about this in his first book,

Component two:

It's Time to Sell, that limiting that limiting belief,

Component two:

he'll tell you, and he talks about it in his first book,

Component two:

It's Time to Sell, that limiting belief kept him trapped for years.

Component two:

You have to identify the stories that are holding you back.

Component two:

Challenge the evidence and consciously replace them with empowering beliefs.

Component two:

You have to shift your identity.

Component two:

Component number three, the quantum leap ritual.

Component two:

This is a daily practice to keep you aligned with your vision,

Component two:

one that Chris and I both practice.

Component two:

It consists of visualization,

Component two:

affirmation, an action plan, and reflection.

Component two:

Every morning you vividly imagine your ideal business.

Component two:

Picture yourself guiding your ideal clients.

Component two:

Repeat statements that reinforce your new identity.

Component two:

Then pick one or two high impact actions that you can take today.

Component two:

Now, why does this ritual work?

Component two:

Because of component number four,

Component two:

which is engaging your reticulator because of component number four.

Component two:

Engaging your reticular activating system or RAS.

Component two:

Your RAS is a network in your brainstem that filters information.

Component two:

When you visualize your goals,

Component two:

your RAS is a network in your brain stem that filters information.

Component two:

When you visualize your goals and affirm your identity daily,

Component two:

you're literally programming your brain's filter.

Component two:

You suddenly start noticing the right opportunities,

Component two:

the right connections, and the right ideas that were always there,

Component two:

but previously went unnoticed.

Component two:

Side note here. If you've ever seen the selective attention test video on YouTube,

Component two:

it involves a circle of people passing a basketball around.

Component two:

It's probably ~ 15 years old by now.

Component two:

You know exactly what I'm talking about.

Component two:

It's a great example and proof of how this works.

Component two:

Activating this filter creates a powerful pull force for your business.

Component two:

All right, let's wrap this up so that you can get on with your day.

Component two:

Remember that the quantum leap strategy isn't wishing for success.

Component two:

It's about proactively defining your vision so clearly that it pulls you forward.

Component two:

It's about aligning your daily actions with your ultimate goals for freedom,

Component two:

impact, and income.

Component two:

When you do this, you stop reacting to the demands of the moment.

Component two:

You get out of that valley of death,

Component two:

and you start pulling the right clients naturally toward you.

Component two:

All right, till next time.
